On Friday, May 26th, 2023, North Vancouver RCMP officers were near the Superstore on Seymour Boulevard for an unrelated matter when they observed a man running out of the emergency exit followed by staff. The officers jumped into action and arrested the suspect, returning $2,100 worth of toothpaste.
The North Vancouver RCMP shared a photo of the stolen toothpaste on social media and quipped that they think the suspect was trying to make a clean getaway but was unsuccessful.
This incident is a great example of being at the right place at the right time. The North Vancouver RCMP continue to investigate.
In addition to the stolen toothpaste, the suspect was also found to be in possession of a stolen credit card and a small amount of drugs. He has been charged with theft, possession of stolen property, and possession of drugs.
This incident is a reminder that theft is a serious crime. If you see something, say something. Report any suspicious activity to the police.
